[FANNIN COUNTY] Empower Texoma Symposium

The Empower Texoma Symposium Series is a quarterly regional training initiative designed to support nonprofit organizations across the Texoma region. Each symposium rotates host locations among Fannin, Grayson, Bryan, and Marshall Counties to ensure accessibility throughout the area. The series was established to provide high-quality professional development opportunities focused on the unique challenges and operational needs commonly faced by nonprofits serving the Texoma community.

Fundraising with Boards: Building a Culture of Philanthropy

Fundraising is a shared responsibility between board and staff. This workshop helps nonprofit leaders and board members understand their role in resource development, build confidence in fundraising activities, and create a culture of philanthropy that supports long-term sustainability. Participants will learn practical strategies for board engagement, donor relationship building, board giving, and strengthening accountability in fundraising efforts. Through discussion and actionable tools, attendees will leave better equipped to serve as ambassadors, advocates, and champions for their mission.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

• Define the board’s role in fundraising and resource development.
• Identify specific fundraising activities appropriate for board members.
• Develop strategies for increasing board engagement in donor cultivation and stewardship.
• Establish fundraising expectations that support accountability and participation.
• Strengthen collaboration between board and staff to build a sustainable fundraising program.
