The Empower Texoma Symposium Series is a quarterly regional training initiative designed to support nonprofit organizations across the Texoma region. Each symposium rotates host locations among Fannin, Grayson, Bryan, and Marshall Counties to ensure accessibility throughout the area. The series was established to provide high-quality professional development opportunities focused on the unique challenges and operational needs commonly faced by nonprofits serving the Texoma community.

Fundraising Strategy: Building a Sustainable Resource Development Plan

Fundraising success rarely comes from one good idea or one good year, it comes from a deliberate, diversified plan. This workshop helps nonprofit leaders and development staff move beyond reactive, event-driven fundraising toward a strategic approach that balances multiple revenue streams and supports long-term financial health.

Participants will learn how to assess their current fundraising mix, set realistic revenue goals, and build a year-round strategy that integrates individual giving, grants, events, and major gifts. Through practical planning tools, attendees will leave with a clearer roadmap for strengthening and diversifying their organization's fundraising efforts.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Evaluate their organization's current fundraising portfolio and identify gaps or over-reliance on a single revenue source.
  • Set measurable, realistic fundraising goals aligned with organizational capacity and mission priorities.
  • Build a year-round fundraising calendar that integrates multiple strategies and donor touchpoints.
  • Apply donor segmentation techniques to prioritize cultivation and stewardship efforts.
  • Develop a basic framework for tracking fundraising progress and adjusting strategy throughout the year.

You’ll leave with clear, actionable steps you can implement immediately, not just theory. Designed specifically for small and mid-sized nonprofits in rural communities, this training addresses the real challenges you’re facing right now.
