Artificial intelligence and related technologies are increasingly part of nonprofit work, showing up in fundraising, marketing, data management, grant writing, and everyday tools that staff already use. For many nonprofits, the challenge isn’t always adopting new technology, but understanding how to use it responsibly, effectively, and in ways that support mission-driven work.

Future Forward: AI and Nonprofits is a one-day, in-person conference hosted by the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits that brings together nonprofit professionals to explore how these tools are being used across the sector. The conference will feature a keynote session and multiple breakout sessions focused on practical applications, emerging issues, and real-world considerations for nonprofits of all sizes. Throughout the day, speakers will also connect these topics to leadership, helping attendees think through policies, staff guidance, culture, and accountability as AI becomes more commonplace in nonprofit work. Sessions will address topics such as data security and privacy, marketing and communications, fundraising and grant writing, philanthropy, equity considerations, digital technology for good, and the use of AI to support organizational decision-making. This conference is designed for nonprofit leaders and staff who want a clearer, more realistic understanding of how AI fits into nonprofit work today and how to approach it thoughtfully moving forward.

Participants will leave with...

  • A clearer picture of how AI is already showing up in nonprofit work, from fundraising and grant writing to marketing, data management, and the everyday tools your team may already be using.
  • A practical understanding of the risks that come with AI adoption, including data security, privacy, and equity considerations, and why the human element remains essential to using these tools responsibly and effectively.
  • Concrete ideas for leading your organization through AI-related decisions, from shaping policies and guiding staff to building a culture of thoughtful, accountable use that stays true to your mission and the people it serves.
  • A realistic, grounded view of where AI fits in nonprofit work today and how to move forward with it intentionally, without losing sight of what makes your organization's work matter.
