The Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits is proud to host this training, presented by Peters & Chandler, P.C. Federal Grant Accounting and Compliance for Nonprofits is a half-day course that walks nonprofit staff through the full grant management lifecycle, from award to audit. Participants will learn how to interpret grant agreements and federal guidelines, distinguish subrecipient from contractor relationships, and apply best practices for administration, including internal controls, board oversight, and expenditure tracking. The session also covers federal and state reporting requirements and what it takes to prepare for a financial statement or single audit.

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Interpret grant agreements and apply federal guidelines to determine allowable vs. unallowable costs.
  • Distinguish subrecipient vs. contractor relationships and explain why it matters.
  • Identify components of sound grant administration, policies, internal controls, and board oversight.
  • Apply best practices for expenditure tracking and avoiding double dipping.
  • Prepare for federal/state reporting and audit requirements, including SEFA and single vs. financial statement audits.
After registering, you will receive a brief survey linked in your confirmation email. Your responses help us tailor the course content to attendees' needs, and we greatly appreciate your feedback!
