The Lunch and Learn series provides short trainings that fit easily into the workday. Each session highlights one concept or skill area relevant to nonprofit professionals. Topics change throughout the year, offering flexibility and variety. Participants gain useful takeaways they can apply immediately.
Recruiting 101 will walk participants through the essential elements of effective recruitment, from crafting clear, compelling job descriptions to conducting interviews that truly identify the best candidates. We’ll also explore best practices for involving your board in key hiring decisions to ensure alignment, transparency, and shared ownership in the process. Whether you’re new to hiring or just looking to sharpen your skills, this session will provide straightforward guidance, real-world tips, and simple frameworks you can put to use immediately.

Managing Partner
Corey Walker has been in the recruiting industry since 2007 working for corporate and award-winning, third-party firms. His array of experience in management consulting, information technology, and energy industries has shown the need for a new style of recruiting, one that addresses the unique needs of each client. Corey has been recognized by several organizations as a top recruiting professional.
As a former corporate recruiter turned small business owner, Corey is passionate about providing recruiting solutions that are flexible and customizable to our clients’ needs, no matter their size. He has also spent several years working in the energy sector—learning and understanding professional energy needs from various perspectives. Each company and each recruiting solution require different tactics for success.
Corey’s business and recruiting experience has prepared him to address these solutions head-on. Corey has a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship from the University of Oklahoma and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Austin College. Corey is an active member of the entrepreneurship community in Oklahoma City and Ncite Partners was created out of a local incubator program. Corey spends his spare time traveling internationally, watching and attending sporting events, and chasing around his toddler.
